Fulcrum Group Shortlisted for Two Prestigious Categories at the Yorkshire HR Awards

Fulcrum Group, the leading multi-utility and High Voltage (HV) infrastructure and services provider, has been announced as a finalist in two categories at the upcoming Yorkshire HR Awards, People Leadership and Transformational Change.

Fulcrum Group’s recognition at the Yorkshire HR Awards, which take place on 21st November at the Queen’s Hotel in Leeds, reflects the substantial progress the company has made over the past year.

Fulcrum’s Head of HR, Kathryn McLeod, has been shortlisted for the People Leader of the Year award, recognising her pivotal role in supporting the business’s significant transformation. Under her direction, the Group has achieved remarkable success in improving employee engagement, retention, and succession planning, supporting the improvement in its overall business performance.

Much of this progress has been driven by Kathryn and her People Team, who focused on creating a culture of engagement and partnership within the business.

Kathryn’s leadership approach has resulted in the implementation of several key improvement initiatives across the group, including the enhancement of its training and development programmes, with more than 30% of employees participating in professional development over the past 12 months.

Its HR initiatives have positioned Fulcrum for sustained business growth. The People Team’s passion for employee engagement and partnership has created a more cohesive organisation, resulting in a strong sense of collaboration throughout the Group.

I am exceptionally proud of the work our People Team have done within the business, and for the support from our entire workforce. Being shortlisted for these awards recognises the dedication and commitment of everyone in the business who has embraced what we aimed to achieve.

HR is not just a responsive support function, it’s a central driving force in our growth strategy. By placing people at the heart of the business and focusing on collaboration, we’ve been able to transform both our culture and performance. The team’s partnership with the wider business has been crucial to driving the positive changes that are now delivering measurable success.
