This promotion is the latest stage of Ryan’s 18-year career with Maintech Power, which he began as an apprentice and has progressed to now managing the company’s maintenance and construction projects division.
Ryan’s promotion, from Head of Operations (Major Projects) is part of Maintech Power’s strategy to build a larger and more experienced workforce through recruitment, development and succession planning.
This will help the business, which is part of Fulcrum Group, continue to meet a growing demand for its specialist High Voltage services for projects such as private electricity networks for large scale solar farms, battery storage and commercial premises.
Starting his career as an apprentice Low Voltage electrician, Ryan progressed into High Voltage jointing across 11kV and 33kV as well as 11kV and 33kV fitting and maintenance.
He subsequently took on the role of Field Manager in 2015, before becoming Operations Manager Construction and most recently Head of Operations (Major Projects).
In his new role, Ryan will also utilise his years of experience as a ‘Senior Authorised Person’ by taking the role of ‘Authorising Engineer’, authorising new engineers who have met the standards required to operate on HV electrical networks.
The expertise that Maintech Power possesses is continually in strong demand, most recently from emerging industries in the renewables sector and large sites requiring dedicated private electricity networks. This has led to enjoying a varied and interesting career with the company that I am looking forward to continuing in this new role.
We have some fantastic and loyal long-term customers that we have built excellent relationships with through the delivery our HV projects. They are testament to the quality of the people we have here who have the drive to come up with innovative solutions that meet and exceed requirements.
Ryan is a perfect example of how we attract, develop and reward exceptional people at Maintech Power. His hands-on practical expertise, combined with his years of knowledge and understanding of our business makes him the ideal person for this role.
As we continue to grow and see an increased demand for our services, we are building a strong and experienced management team that can work with our existing and future workforce. We continue to recruit new entrants to our industry as well as those with experience, who will benefit from working with experts like Ryan and help Maintech Power play its key role in a low carbon, renewable energy-led economy.
